Love this so much. The landscape, the wind, your voice, and the words that are so simple and perfect. Take me to that path! I want to explore those landscapes! It looks like the land of Nan Shepherd.
Simple but powerful poetry. My favourite! And the structure with those short, even one-word lines, so deftly guide the reader and emphasise meaning. As David tells us, we know that we must keep moving forward, but we are our own biggest obstacle. Surprise! We must go beyond self. Get out of our own way as he has often described it. And yet, surprise! the answer to the problem, the knowing it is right, and the courage to act already lies deep within us. When we realise that the external invitation (the straight road to the horizon so beautifully depicted in the video) matches our deep-felt knowing, that's how we know. Somehow it always comes back to the point that we already know. We should always search inward for wisdom. I became conscious of that fact in my 30s and stopped asking others for advice. It has not failed me. Dawn from Tobago West Indies
Dawn, yes! I appreciate your way of hearing the poem...There is indeed so much more we already know in our subconscious. How good to read you became aware of this intuitive wisdom in your life. - Tova from Montreal, Canada...temporarily residing in Houston, TX. :)
It is as if to respond to a dilemma of being indisisive. The inner calmness of certitude is such a blessing. The depth of the inner feelings is mached by the apparently simple surroundings. But they are not simple at all. The pathway is saturated with meaning. Thanks so much. It is a wonderful poem and an amazing recitation of it. Gratitude is overflowing my heart.
thank you, especially for the audio and video. Your poems when you speak them and I hear them go right to my soul and heart.
